Dear Friends of Habitat,

Habitat Singapore is looking for volunteers who are willing to give some of their time to help families build homes in Guangzhou, China this December.

From the first nail to the last, you’ll get dirty, work hard and discover you have what it takes to build a better world. Whether you lay bricks, dig holes or paint walls, you’ll develop new skills, make new friends and experience the magic of concerned citizens with like values.

The trip details are as follows:

  • Date : 1 - 11 December 2008
  • Approximate cost : S$500
  • Register by : Monday, 6 Oct 2008

The above approximate incountry cost covers accommodation, accident and illness insurance, ground transport, most meals and water. The airtickets shall be arranged together with the team. This is a special project with National Youth Council, hence the cost is lower.

Volunteer criteria:

  • 18-35 years old
  • Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Resident
  • First time joining YEP (Youth Expedition Project)
  • Committed and dedicated
  • Physical and mental fitness
  • Flexible and adaptable

Since this is a youth team, students will be given priority. If you are interested and fit all the above criteria, please reply to this email by Monday 6 Oct 2008.

Those interested will need to pay a non-refundable deposit of S$200 each. They are also required to attend a compulsory briefing and participate in a pre and post community service with Habitat.
