LEO CLUB: Wealth of Love 2007


Leo Club is having their annual Wealth of Love 2007 event with a very different focus this time

- environmental focus: Collection of Recyclable Items

Event Day: 1 July 2007 Sunday

Time: 9am to 5pm

Meeting Time: 830 am

Areas: Toa Payoh District (refer to poster)

Collection Items: newspaper, clothes, toys etc from residents

Funds raised will go to Moral Home for the Disabled to fortify the effort in meaningful cause.

CCA points, lunch and beverage will be provided. There will be a prize for the Club with the most number of members who turned up. (Individual sign ups not included).

This can be a good bonding opportunity for your CCA group. Please sign up as a Club =D.

Furthermore, they are also collecting items - Clothing, Magazines, Old toys and metal containers as part of pre event fund raising. If you have any of the items listed above, do drop by the booth in ATRIUM with these items on 25th and 28th May 2007, 10am to 5pm

TEN TONS 2007





BA CARES is having a upcoming activity that needs a lot of your help!

Garangunee collection has always been BA Cares forte and they would like to capitalize on their experience to aim for a more ambitious target – TEN TONS -an island wide newspaper collection while creating a Guinness World Record.

Event Day: 14 July 2007 Saturday
Time: 9am to 1.30pm
Meeting Time: 830 am
Areas: All over Singapore, register to choose your favourite destination (refer to poster)
Collection Items: newspaper, used electronic goods and clothes from residents and corporations.

The extensiveness of this project would require many volunteers who we hope to recruit from NP, secondary schools and other keen organizations. Funds raised will go to selected Voluntary Welfare Organizations to fortify their efforts in various meaningful causes.

With this project, the aims are:
Do our part for the environment
Inspire the public to do their bit for the environment
Engage youths in community involvement
Support the various efforts of VWOs
Encourage volunteerism
Create the Guinness World Record
Develop the potential of future leaders in entrepreneurship
Character building skills for students participation
Enrich ourselves in various skills such as volunteer management

The list of nominated VWOs that have been selected to be beneficiaries are as follow:

2. Movement for Intellectually disabled of Singapore (MINDS)
3. Alzheimer's Disease Association
4. Assisi Home and Hospice
5. Association for Persons with Special Needs
6. Autism Association (Singapore)
7. Dover Park Hospice
8. Fei Yue Community Services
9. Presbyterian Community Services
10. Spastic Children's Association of Singapore
11. Dyslexia Association of Singapore
12. St Luke Hospital Ltd

CCA Points will be awarded to all participants. As attached are posters for TEN TONS.

Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2007

The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon is here again!

Being its sixth year, more runners are taking the opportunity to be part of the big race.

As looking forward to 38,000 this year, the Standard Chartered Marathon is recruiting some 2,600 volunteers to help out during Race Day on 02 December 2007, as well assupport staff at the Marathon Expo held before the event.

For the past five years, volunteers played a big part in this event, and the race would not have been a huge success without them.Volunteers can look forward to an array of positions to choose from (such as Marathon Expo, Marshals, Drinks Station Staffs, and many others),volunteer benefits and ultimately, the fun enriching experience that comes along with it!

There are the lists of benefits volunteers can expect to receive:

Official event apparel sponsored by Adidas
Token of allowance ($20/-)
Meals and drinks provided
Transportation provided
Community Involvement Programme - CIP hours (if applicable)

With that, We would like to invite you to be part of Asia's most highly anticipated running events of the year - The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2007, as volunteers. If one volunteer can make a difference to someone in need, let's make a huge difference by making the runners' experience a memorable one!
